Three Community Leaders Join 90.7 WMFE Board of Trustees

THREE COMMUNITY LEADERS JOIN 90.7 WMFE BOARD OF TRUSTEES 

New appointees are Peg Cornwell of Rollins College, Dawn Duross of Cisco Systems and Sascha Rizzo of Wells Fargo Private Bank; 2018 chair and vice chair are Robert B. White, Jr. and Anne E. Kelley

ORLANDO — The 90.7 WMFE Board of Trustees welcomed three new members on Jan. 1: Peg Cornwell, associate to the president for College & Community Relations, Rollins College, Dawn Duross, senior director, Cisco Systems and Sascha Rizzo, senior vice president, Wells Fargo Private Bank.

“I am excited to welcome to the Board three community leaders who not only fill our strategic needs but have diverse perspectives and skills to continue to shape our organization and move us forward,” said LaFontaine E. Oliver, president and general manager of 90.7 WMFE.

Peg Cornwell is associate to the president for College & Community Relations at Rollins College. She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in counseling and human development from St. Lawrence University. She served as St. Lawrence’s director of career services and project director for the student Leadership Academy. Since the Cornwells’ arrival at Rollins College in August 2015, Peg has become engaged with the campus and local communities. She is active in Rotary and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Directors for Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. 

Dawn Duross is a senior director in Cisco’s Global & Strategic Partner Organization, responsible for managing a portfolio of Cisco’s global partnerships including Deloitte, Microsoft, SAP, Citrix and Apple. Duross and her team drive executive alignment, partner strategy, and Go to Market activities with these firms to drive business outcomes in key technology areas such as Data Center, Cloud, and Collaboration. Duross holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, and a Master’s degree in journalism and public affairs from American University in Washington, D.C. 

Sascha Rizzo works at one of the oldest and largest private banks in the nation. As part of the investment management team, Sascha works with clients to create asset allocation strategies and construct portfolios to help meet clients’ investment objectives while managing risk. Sascha graduated Cum Laude from Rutgers University with a degree in Economics. He earned an MBA from the Roy E. Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College. After graduation, Sascha earned the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). He served as mayor of the City of Maitland from 2000-2006.

The new trustees were elected at the Dec. 6 Board meeting and their initial one-year terms began Jan. 1. Their first Board meeting is Feb. 28 at WMFE.

“We are extremely fortunate to have these three talented individuals as members of our Board of Trustees; they will assist us greatly in delivering on 90.7 WMFE’s core mission of presenting high-quality content that earns the interest, involvement and support of the people we serve,” said Robert B. White, Jr., 2018 Board Chair and vice president of White & Luczak, P.A.

Elected to new leadership roles in 2018 are Board Chair White, WMFE’s 32nd board chair, Vice Chair Anne E. Kelley, chief credit officer, Northstar Financial Group, Inc., and Immediate Past Chair Peter C. Barr, Jr., president & CEO, &Barr.
