Lake Washington is Brevard County’s largest lake and for Melbourne, a primary source of drinking water.

90.7 economic analyst Hank Fishkind says a large bloom of toxic algae on the lake points to bigger problems with Central Florida’s drinking water. He talked with 90.7 environmental reporter Amy Green.

Amy Green covered the environment for WMFE until 2023. Her work included the 2020 podcast DRAINED.
