Valentine’s Day Weekend
I’m guessing you already have Valentine’s Day plans by now, so why even bother you with date stuff? I mean… most people are single anyways, right? Right?? …. Everyone is forty and single right????….
The Florida State Fair has everything you never knew you wanted and cows. The rides are all huge and terrifying and cost way too many tickets, but those rides demand to be ridden, and repeatedly, as you walk past them, lights a-twinklin. and music a-blarin’. And don’t miss the cultural displays of agricultural and socioeconomic import known as, the arts and crafts hall. I will never understand quilting. Why spend all that time doing that? Ugh. The Florida state fair runs this weekend each day starting at nine at the Florida state fairgrounds in Tampa.
The 2015 Love Your Shorts Film Festival is every single day this weekend with films showing each day and night as well as short film workshops and short film special events. For more information, go to loveyourshorts.com.
And finally, nothing says “the arts” like rich theatre kids doing a play about murder. Inspired by the real life case of murderess Ruth Snyder, Rollins College is doing the play “Machinal,” Saturday at 8 and Sunday at 4. Because why see theatre at a convenient time?
