Does anyone ever ask you “How’s your honey?” If so, tonight at 7:30 you can tell them “They’re fine. They’re with me watching the Hitchcock classic film “The Birds” outside under the stars at Leu Gardens.” Tickets are cheap and the Leu is located at 1920 North Forest Avenue.
Shuffleboard is the sport that should have caught on with the cool kids a year ago if it weren’t for all these bowling alleys popping up. Gather with people of a certain class, stature and gait, and play shuffleboard for free Saturday at 7 at Orlando's Beardall Courts at 800 Delaney Avenue.
Tonight from 5 to 9 at the Faith Arts Village Orlando a.k.a. FAVO, walk from hotel room to hotel room peeking into windows and barging in on artists as they sit inside waiting for you to peek and barge. The art ranges from amateur to “Ok I could see that hanging on someone else’s kitchen wall,” but the reason to go is not the art, it’s the atmosphere: you’re outside at night, there’s a giant oak tree swaying in what is hopefully the breeze, you’re walking along the rickety ledges of an old 60s motor lodge and the best part: interacting with a cacophony, a hootenanny a clutch if you will… of some of Orlando’s top oddball artists. The converted hotel turned arts hub is at 221 East Colonial Drive.
And as always… Orlando is wonderful.
