Voter Fraud

  • President Trump’s Election Commission is under way holding its first meeting last week. Even before the commission met, it ruffled the feathers of state elections officials by asking for data on the nation’s 200 million registered voters. Information such as partial Social Security numbers, political party affiliations, and criminal records.
  • President Trump has called for an investigation into voter fraud. Elections officials say voter fraud is rare, but they’re worried about chilling effect of erosion of public confidence in the electoral process. Will distrust about US elections keep people away from the polls?   • Eatonville is operating without a mayor. Governor Rick Scott suspended the town’s leader Anthony Grant last week after a grand jury indicted him on voter fraud charges. Grant and two others face felony charges following an investigation into last year’s mayoral election. 90.7’s Renata Sago took a trip to the historically black town to see how residents were taking the news.
