  • On the day the new Star Wars movie premiers in theaters, NASA scientists released images of a new star that looks like a giant lightsaber in the sky. And while light sabers may be a thing of science fiction, 90.7’s Brendan Byrne spoke with Hubble Space Telescope scientist Jennifer Wiseman about the not-so-science-fiction reasons behind the stellar phenomenon.
  • The launch of the Hubble Space telescope in 1990 is said to have ushered in a golden age of astronomy. In Hubble’s 25 years it has taken 38,000 observations and traveled more than 3 billion miles in orbit.
