State law enforcement officers would start earning a higher salary next July under a proposal from Gov. Rick Scott. At a press conference Thursday in Orlando, Scott announced intentions to recommend a 5% raise for agencies such as the Florida Highway Patrol and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
