  • Florida lawmakers approved an emergency management bill that puts a permanent ban on so-called vaccine passports at the close of the legislative session last week.
  • The active hurricane season has emergency managers figuring out how to prepare for evacuations and shelters with the pandemic still surging- that means finding extra space for people to shelter while social distancing, and even spacing out the lines for people to fill up sandbags.
  • Central Florida residents are preparing for possible high winds and flooding as Tropical Storm Erica makes its way to the coast from Puerto Rico. Meteorologists predict the storm could reach our area as early as Monday. 90.7’s Renata Sago reports, more than two dozen emergency management sites have sandbags for residents.
