The Global Peace Film Festival


Watching movies doesn’t have to be an idle pastime. In fact, the organizers of the Global Peace Film Festival want it to be a revolutionary one. This annual festival of short films, features and documentaries hopes to inspire audiences to action, using movies as a catalyst for change. And in this, its 15th year, it feels like peaceful change is needed more than ever. Festival founder Nina Streich admits that 2017’s environmental devastation, global social inequality, and divisive politics are scary. Global Peace Film Festival


Watch films. Get involved. Change things. That’s the mantra of the Global Peace Film Festival, an annual Florida event that uses the power of filmmaking to change the world. Established in 2003, the little festival gives independent documentaries that don’t often see the light of day because they’re too controversial, underfunded or simply not sexy enough to bring in enough revenue to your local movie house.
