• The University of Central Florida plans to expand in downtown Orlando. President John Hitt announced Tuesday the university will partner with Valencia College on a downtown campus that will educate up to 10,000 students. Hitt says the goal is to expose students to downtown work opportunities and also enhance education in low-income Parramore. He says the idea is modeled after Arizona State University’s downtown campus, which has about 11,000 students. “They’ll tell you it’s the best thing they ever did.
