Mark Baratelli is taking a well-deserved break,  Bill Johnson is filling in for Mark.

Local Café’s Proper & Wild and The Sanctum are competing to take home the coveted Golden Spatula in a Veggie Burger Brawl! I envision Ron Swanson from Parks and Rec showing up and cooking his plain beef burger, but he’s a fictional character – that’s not going to happen. Tickets are the equivalent of 4 Raw Beeswax Pillar candles, and provides tokens to try both veggie burgers along with sides, and voting rights to crown the winner. The Spat for the Spatula takes place Saturday evening at 6 at The Sanctum Cafe in Orlando.

Reach out to your departed ancestors at the “Heart of Spirit Gala Day” celebrating the Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp’s 125th year anniversary. The spiritualist camp will be raising funds for repairs to the Colby Memorial Temple.   Experience mini-readings by Camp Certified Mediums, workshops, card readings, vendors, and more spiritual fun and enlightenment. The celebration takes place Saturday 10am-4pm in Cassadaga

And finally, when you think of Polynesian Music, Dance, Food, and Drinks… you naturally think of “The German American Society of Central Florida”. Well, this weekend they are trading in their wiener schnitzel for Polynesian grilled fire pork and their lederhosen for Hawaiian shirts. Enjoy Polynesian music, dancers and cuisine along with tropical drinks. The Luau is Saturday evening 5 to 11 at the German American Society of Central Florida in Casselberry.

And as Mark Baratelli always says, and I agree “Orlando is Wonderful”.
