Spotlight: Trash 2 Trends Fashion Show
One person’s trash is another person’s trend. At least that’s the case for Orlando’s second annual Trash 2 Trends recycled fashion show.
Local designers have created outfits from items that would have ended up in a landfill. Instead they will end up on the runway Saturday night. Yes, there will be a GREEN carpet. The idea is to get people thinking about sustainability and to raise funds for the the city non-profit Keep Orlando Beautiful.
The designers got very creative with their masterpieces using “everything from bubble wrap, plastic bags, construction fence, old fire hoses, pool hoses, poker chips, cards; it’s just everything you can imagine,” said Jody Buyas, Keep Orlando Beautiful coordinator.
One of the designers this year is Orlando artist Heather Lockwood. Check out her dress made of bubble wrap and plastic bags:
