I never wanted to be your weekend lover… Yes! Tonight pay homage to the purple one during a midnight screening of Purple Rain, Prince’s fantastic film screening at Enzian Theatre in that grey area on mills between Maitland and Winter Park. Go to ENZIAN.org for tickets.

Saturday there’s a multi-venue music festival in Mills50 called Smashington. 80 different musical acts in a bunch of great venues will be playing all day Saturday on North Mills Avenue. Tickets aren’t free.

Big Bang Bazaar is back again this Saturday with 100 tech and geek artisans selling their Muppet Baby patches and Mario Brothers resin pendants and more all day at the Melbourne Auditorium 11 to 6 in Melbourne. Unless there’s a Melbourne auditorium in Orlando.

Orlando’s food truck bazaar owned by someone speaking on the radio right now will be at Orlando Shakespeare Theater’s “Dinner and a Movie” out on the lovely green lawn at Loch Haven Park. The whole thing is free! About a thousand families and locals gather each time Orlando Shakes does this. Saturday’s movie is the classic West Side Story. Ten food trucks will be serving dinner. For more information go to orlandoshakes.org. And as always, Orlando is wonderful!
