90.7 WMFE finds winner in Amplify Central Florida contest

MOONLIGHT PLAYERS THEATRE WINS AMPLIFY CENTRAL FLORIDA CONTEST

90.7 WMFE gives $2,500 in on-air messaging to local arts organization

ORLANDO -- The Moonlight Players Theatre has won 90.7 WMFE's Amplify Central Florida contest, which brought together fans of arts organizations across Central Florida. The winning organization will earn $2,500 in free on-air messaging, to be played through Nov. 30.

William Pratesi, VP of production for the Moonlight Players, is excited to see what the airtime will do.

"As a daily listener to WMFE, I am thrilled to accept the award on behalf of Moonlight Players!" he said. "I know I speak for our entire board of directors and ranks of volunteers in expressing my gratitude to WMFE for being chosen as the first recipient of this award. I am excited to see how the increased exposure will allow us to grow and better serve our community."
The contest:

90.7 WMFE launched the Amplify Central Florida campaign in July 2018 to help support arts organizations after the state cut arts funding by nearly 90 percent this year.

To help spread the word about art events around Central Florida, 90.7 WMFE maintains a Community Events Calendar that arts organizations can contribute to. To enter the Amplify Central Florida contest, arts organizations added their events to the calendar then let their fans know it was the place to go to find fun things to do around Central Florida. Nominees also submitted a "case for support" document to 90.7 WMFE to explain what they do and how it would help if they were to win. Fans of those nominees could vote for their favorite arts organizationto show their support. Then WMFE's Community Advisory Board took those factors into account and decided on a winner.

Be the next winner!

This was just the first Amplify Central Florida Campaign. They'll be offered quarterly, giving a new chance for organizations to enter and win $2,500 worth of on-air messaging.

The next contest gets underway on Oct. 1, so stay tuned to 90.7 WMFE, follow on Twitter and Instagram, and like on Facebook for 90.7 WMFE and 89.5 WMFV.

Please share this campaign with arts organizations in the community who would benefit from this opportunity!
