The Orlando Nerd Fest is an annual celebration of nerd music and culture with live music performances, art displays, video games, Sci-Fi and Fantasy fun and more. Tickets to Orlando Nerd Fest include admission to the special engagement exhibit. Nerd Fest takes place Saturday and Sunday starting at 10am to late at night at Orlando Science Center. For more information go to orlandonerdfest.com.

Saturday is National Bowling Day! My mom used to take me with her to her bowling league when I was in elementary school back when smoking was legal inside (hot mess). Anyways, in honor of National Bowling Day, Broadway Bowl is giving bowlers one free game and free bowling shoes 9 to 1 on Saturday. Broadway Bowl is at 10749 E. Colonial Dr. Orlando FL.

You can’t be a super hero without a cape, and you can’t have a cake unless you can sew, you can’t sew unless you attend the cap making class at the Orlando Public Library in downtown Orlando. The cape making class is Saturday at 2. Why is this not part of Nerd Fest?

Orlando Bike Tours is back this time with beer! Each time this gaggle gathers, there’s a new topic. This time, it’s beer. Ride with strangers to three local pubs, slosh yourself silly, and then weave in and out of traffic back to the meeting spot. The bars they’ll be stopping at are Brass Tap, Hammered lamb and World of Beer. The drank and drive happens Saturday. Meet at 10:30 at The Brass Tap in stunningly sophisticated Mills50. This isn’t free so bring cash or credit.

Single? Lonely? Then you don’t get to go to Leu Gardens tonight for Date Night. I finally have a boyfriend, so I get go! For those of us with lovers, we get to lay our head on our boyfriends shoulder and watch Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 as our boyfriends push grapes in our mouths we packed in our picnic baskets... because lovers have picnic baskets. Gardens open at 6:00 p.m. It isn’t free but it’s tonight at 8:30 at Harry P. Leu Gardens.

And as always, Orlando is wonderful.
