I like to buy things pre-made, but if you are not like me…then head to Maker Faire Orlando, a community-organized, family-friendly event now in its third year featuring local do-it-yourself science, art, rockets, robots, crafts, technology, music, hands-on-activities, and more. It’s an event where people show what they are making and share what they are learning. Maker Faire Orlando runs Saturday-Sunday 10-5 at the Orlando Science Center.

Johnny’s Fillin’ Station is putting on a fun new event at Leu Gardens called the first Annual Burgers in the Garden Burger Bash Saturday at 6. Local chefs will bring their best burgers for crowd and will battle it out for the Grand Prize and People’s Choice Award Trophies. Attendees will enjoy live music, craft beers and spirits, and the best burger recipes in town. Tickets are available by advance purchase only. Go to Leu gardens website for details.

Everyone knows that Thornton Park has the best wine walk in town, but we will support anyone else who wants to do their own wine walk. Yes it's about getting bodies into the front doors of local businesses and promoting the little pockets of cool in and around Orlando, but it's also about giving yourself one more reason to not be sober and let it go. The Audubon Park Garden District is hosting a wine walk Saturday 2-5 in their parking-lot-choked hipster hub extending down Corrine Drive and including a teensy scrunch of East Winter Park Road.
