Lawsuit Alleges Verbal Abuse by UCF Coach O’Leary
A former UCF football coach filed a lawsuit against the University for wrongful termination.
In the filing, head football coach George O’Leary is accused of making racist remarks and bullying.
Paul Ferraro, the planitif in the lawsuit, was tapped to replace the outgoing defensive coordinator last season.
The suit alleges O’Leary created a hostile work environment through the verbal abuse of coaches and staff.
After sending an e-mail to O’Leary to express his concern, Ferraro claims he was terminated from his position without actually resigning.
He’s suing for $15,000 in damages.
The University launched an investigation into the allegations of racism. UCF’s Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action office found those allegations to be untrue.
The University’s Board of Trustees and Athletic Association are named as defendants in the lawsuit.
