Join us for Intersection Live: AI on Thursday, Sept. 12, at the Orlando Science Center for a panel discussion about artificial intelligence, followed by an exclusive preview of the exhibit AI: Your Mind & The Machine before it opens to the public.

Orlando is the first stop on a world tour for AI: Your Mind & The Machine, the first traveling museum exhibit to focus on the practicality and potential of artificial intelligence. It gives visitors an up-close and engaging look at the technology that promises to change all our lives.

Event schedule:
6 p.m.: Reception with light refreshments
7 p.m.: Panel discussion, led by WMFE’s host Matthew Peddie, featuring AI exhibit director HP Newquist and other experts. The conversation will be recorded to air on a future episode of Intersection.
8 p.m.: Attendees will embark on a self-led tour of the exhibit to explore what “smart machines” are and how they work.

About the panelists: 

HP Newquist

HP Newquist is AI exhibit director and one of the foremost authorities on the history and application of artificial intelligence. His career in AI spans four decades, beginning with the creation of AI TRENDS, the first-ever publication to explore the practical use of artificial intelligence.

Dan Myers

Dan Myers is assistant professor and chair of computer science in the Department of Math & Computer Science at Rollins College in Winter Park. He received his Ph.D. in computer sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with research interests in computer performance modeling and queueing theory.

Walt Wilson

Walt Wilson is vice president, operations for Winter Park-based FleetZoo, a cloud-based route optimization solution that includes order management, route planning and optimization, and real-time customer notification.

Jeremy Joseph

Jeremy Joseph is the senior manager of the Sensor Application Software department with Luminar Technologies, an Orlando company producing advanced sensor technologies for the autonomous vehicle industry.
