Advocates For Puerto Rican Evacuees Ask For More Time For FEMA Program
Advocates for Puerto Ricans displaced by Hurricane Maria are asking for more time. They want a 30 day extension to a judge’s order that keeps a FEMA housing assistance program in place.

New UCF President Dale Whittaker Sets Focus On The Future
Dale Whittaker started his first day as UCF’s fifth president Monday by having coffee with students in the union. Whittaker was formerly UCF provost and executive vice president. Whittaker was formerly UCF provost and executive vice president. He is succeeding President John C. Hitt, who held the position for the last 26 years.

Tory Tepp is an eco-urban land artist in central Florida. He is a member of the Art & History Museums Maitland’s Artists-in-Action program. Tepp is giving a tour and presentation Friday called “The Alchemy of Dirt."

Housing Assistance For Maria Evacuees Extended To July 5th
A judge has stopped FEMA from ending its housing assistance program for Puerto Rican families displaced by hurricane Maria. The move comes after advocates filed a lawsuit against FEMA to extend the Transitional Sheltering Assistance program.
