Thousands of Central Floridians will get the chance to experience the new Citrus Bowl when the Florida Classic football match kicks off Saturday.
A trio from Jones High School sang the National Anthem before the ribbon was cut on the rebuilt Citrus Bowl.
Approximately 90% of the stadium is new- and with the new amenities city officials hope to attract many more major events.
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer said he wants the community to be proud of the new Citrus Bowl.
“Today we will dedicate this building to the people of Central Florida,” said Dyer.
” Today a new chapter begins as we create new memories and unforgettable experiences in this iconic venue”
Enhancements include club level seating, larger team facilities, and Wi-Fi coverage in premium spaces.
While construction is continuing, Dyer says the stadium will be ready for kickoff this upcoming Saturday.
