The Book of Mormon is back in Orlando at the glimmering glass castle known as the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts. In it, two young Mormon travel to Africa and learn about local cultures, the world and most importantly, themselves. It’s absurdly inappropriate so don’t bring your babies or momma, but do bring yourself if you like to laugh like a horse. The Book of Mormon runs Saturday and Sunday at 6. Get tickets at the door or at Drphillipscenter.org
The two person art exhibit called The Phenomenology of Reinvention featuring works by Richard REEP and Kim Mathis will be open for viewing Saturday 10 to 6 and Sunday 12:30 to 5:30 at the White Wall Gallery at 900 Douglas Avenue.
If you need some vegan food and alcohol to wake you up this Saturday, try “Drunk Brunch” at Will’s Pub. Expect baked vegan goods like cupcakes from Valhalla Bakery, something meat-like but not actually meat-like from the city’s first vegan food truck, Dixie Dharma, expensive coffee from Lineage Coffee and, my favorite, vegan donuts from “Doughn’t be Cruel”. Best brand name ever. Oh, and of course there’s alcohol flowing like rain from Will’s Pub. The fun runs 11 to 3 at Will’s Pub.
