An Atlas V rocket carrying a GPS satellite launched from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Wednesday.

The launch came a day after a rocket carrying supplies for the International Space Station blew up seconds after lifting off in Virginia.

The Atlas V launch was the fourth global positioning satellite launch carried out by the United Launch Alliance this year.

Meanwhile, search crews are combing an area around Wallops Island Virginia for debris after Tuesday night’s explosion.

An Orbital Sciences Corporation Antares rocket carrying an unmanned spacecraft packed with cargo for the International Space Station blew up shortly after launch.

NASA says it’s disappointed the re-supply mission, the third undertaken by Orbital Sciences, was unsuccessful but the Space Station astronauts are in no danger of running out of food or other supplies.

A Russian spacecraft carrying three tons of fuel, food and spare parts successfully docked with the ISS Wednesday.
