A world without bees is literally a world without fruit, vegetables, and nuts. And the lack of honey would be the least of humanity's problems, and that’s saying something since I make Mead! Let’s do something about it and celebrate National Honey Bee Day at Leu Gardens Saturday from 10am-3pm. You can learn all about Bees from a Master Beekeeper. See a working hive and sample honey. Honey and bee related items will be for sale including beekeeping gear. Regular garden admission is required, find out more at LeuGardens.org
If you’re of a certain age… you can’t talk about a grape stomping event without envisioning the classic “I Love Lucy” grape stomping- than grape fighting scene. Let’s hope things don’t get out of hand at the 25th Annual Harvest Grape Stomp at Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards in Clermont taking place all this weekend. The festival features grape stomping competitions, live music, and wine tastings and tours. More information can be found at lakeridgewinery.com
