The Orange County Sheriff’s Office held its 8th annual Community Crime Summit today.

Sheriff Jerry L. Demings gathered community members to discuss various topics, like crime trends and drug enforcement. This year, the Summit focused on terrorism and the heroin epidemic. More specifically, the way law enforcement is fighting against it.

According to the Medical Examiners Commission, at least 40 of the 300 heroin-related deaths in Florida occurred in Orlando.
