Tips on Fringe

Full confession: I have been in a show at the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival almost every single year since 2006. I love this festival so much that I wanted to take my entire segment and give you some tips for navigating the nation’s oldest fringe theatre festival. The annual Orlando fringe festival now in its 25th year is back this weekend and next.

Before you arrive you can read schedules, reviews and descriptions on all the local news sites and you can even buy your tickets online and prep your whole fest experience beforehand. But I recommend doing what I do: just show up and pick a show! If it’s bad, you have something to talk about. If it’s good same thing! Parking at Fringe: Familiarize yourself with the parking situation by going to Orlandofringe.org and printing out one of their parking maps. Arrive an hour early before your show. You will need that extra time to find a space, park, walk through the thick, thick grass, walk through the theatre building, find your venue, and wait in line. If anyone of you has questions for me about Orlando fringe, just text them to me at 407-308-1417.
