Among the first bills approved this legislative session addresses Florida's troubled waterways.

Lawmakers passed a more than 100-page measure Thursday aimed at rescuing the state's springs, lakes and estuaries, sending it to the governor before the end of the session's first week.

90.7 environmental reporter Amy Green has been following the legislation's progress and joins Morning Edition host Nicole Creston.

Amy Green covered the environment for WMFE until 2023. Her work included the 2020 podcast DRAINED.
