For 25 years, Theatre Downton has called the corner of Orange Avenue and Princeton Street home.

The theatre group has just opened its 14th annual production of “A Christmas Carol,” running through most of December. The show is always popular with audiences, but this year, it’s especially poignant – it’s Theatre Downtown’s final performance in its longtime home.

90.7’s Nicole Creston spoke with Artistic Director Frank Hilgenberg about the highs and lows of this December, beginning with a look at the reasons that Theatre Downtown’s version of “A Christmas Carol” continues to be a local favorite.

Nicole came to Central Florida to attend Rollins College and started working for Orlando’s ABC News Radio affiliate shortly after graduation. She joined Central Florida Public Media in 2010. As a field reporter, news anchor and radio show host in the City Beautiful, she has covered everything from local arts to national elections, from extraordinary hurricanes to historic space flights, from the people and procedures of Florida’s justice system to the changing face of the state’s economy.
