BookThatDoc.com and Publix Real Estate Investments

The city of Orlando gave the OK for incentives for BookThatDoc.com to move from Altamonte Springs to downtown. The city’s Community Redevelopment Agency will give $250,000 to lure the firm into downtown space, with plans to grow to as many as 200 employees by 2021, up from its current staff of 12. Long-term plans for BookThatDoc.com include eventually becoming one of the first tenants at the future Creative Village development.

In other business news, Publix Super Markets Inc. isn’t just a top local grocery chain it’s also a savvy real estate investor. The Lakeland-based grocer in the last couple of weeks spent $39.1 million to buy two shopping centers in Winter Park and Clermont. And earlier this month it bought two centers in the Lee Vista area and Maitland. This year it also spent $16 million for a shopping center in New Smyrna Beach, $7 million for one in Tallahassee and $26.3 million for another in South Florida.

Bill joined WMFE in September 2008. He started his radio career at WFCS at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain Connecticut where he hosted a weekly comedy/variety show and gospel and blues programs. Bill then spent 10 years at WNPR in Hartford, Connecticut, where he worked in radio operations and hosted the evening classical music. During this time he also spent two years working overnights and weekends at WTIC 1080 News in Hartford were he anchored the local newscasts, filed stories for CBS radio and prepared news stories for the morning drive.

Bill lives in Deltona and enjoys travel, motorcycling, restaurants and live music.
