Scott Batterson is set to find out Friday how many years he’s likely to spend behind bars. The former Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority board member is due in court for a sentencing hearing.

The hearing is for two bribery-related charges. They’re second-degree felonies that bring 3.5 to 30 years in prison.

Batterson is convicted of using his position on the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority to trade a contract for jobs for his friends.

In a related Sunshine Law case, he entered a plea of no contest Thursday.  But, that only comes with a fine.

The controversy-plagued Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority no longer exists. The Central Florida Expressway Authority is now in its place.
