In Governor's race, debate remains negative
The debate between Governor Rick Scott and Charlie Crist started 8 minutes late after a quarrel over an electric fan under Crist’s podium. At first, Scott refused to take the stage, saying the fan was against the rules.
Once the debate got going, the two took the opportunity to take personal shots at one another. The campaign has been called the most expensive and negative ever.
Governor Scott blamed Charlie Crist for the economic crisis. Crist said Scott can’t be trusted and mentioned his involvement in a Medicare fraud investigation while CEO of Columbia/HCA.
Florida attorney and political commentator Ed Pozzuoli, co-chairman of Jeb Bush for Governor, says the debate will do little to sway voters in a race that so far is too close to call.
“What this debate did is affirm the viewer’s previous decision. If you were in favor of voting for Rick Scott he gave you enough in this debate and did nothing to dissuade you for voting for [him],” says Pozzouli
Scott and Crist meet again at a CNN debate that will air nationally October 21st.
