Several organizations come together, 100 volunteers will help out and about 300 homeless locals will be served at the 5th Annual Thanksgiving for the Homeless. Attendees will receive a traditional thanksgiving meal, help with finding jobs and homes, receive free haircuts, and receive assistance learning about EBT, Medicaid, and s.s.i. benefits, etc. It all takes place Saturday 11 am to 5 pm at Iglesia El Calvario, one of Orlando's largest Hispanic churches.

Chef Hari Pulapaka from the often talked about Cress Restaurant will share lessons on how to make a meal entirely from locally-sourced entities and ingredients Saturday at 11 at the downtown branch of the Orlando Public Library.

The purpose of the 5th Annual Winter Park Harvest Festival is to celebrate the fall harvest, local farmers, chefs, producers, entrepreneurs, non-profits and artisans who contribute to our local economy. This one-day event is focused on connecting the grass-roots with the deep-roots of our local food-shed. Expect food, tents full of people talking about food, and  The Daily City inside our own tent handing out our newspaper.  The 5th Annual Winter Park Harvest Festival is Saturday 10 to 4 in downtown Winter Park.

And as always, Orlando is wonderful.
