Intersection: What Summer Can Look Like For Central Florida Animal Shelters


Animal shelters often find themselves at capacity during the summer. In Orange County, 50 to 100 animals arrive at the shelter each day. Diane Summers with Orange County Animal Services and Whitney Boylston, director of Lake County Animal Shelter, join us to talk about why they tend to see an increase in animals during the summer and what the shelters do in an effort to find these pets a home.

Brevard Co. Pet Shelter In Need Of Kitten Food


The Brevard Humane Society is running out of pet food. They took a truckload of food to south Miami after Hurricane Irma thinking donations would continue rolling in. Now the shelter said its own supply should only last through the weekend.
