Local health initiative Healthy Central Florida is putting up 25 thousand dollars in grant money to encourage cycling and walking in Winter Park, Eatonville and Maitland. It's hoped the grants will inspire more programs like a successful walk to school initiative at a Maitland Elementary school.

Mental Health Awareness month kicked off in Orange county with
an anniversary celebration for the Central Receiving Center- a special facility for patients suffering a mental health crisis. Before the C-R-C was established, the options for emergency mental health treatment in Orange County were limited.
