Intersection | Florida's Redistricting Fight and Orlando's Hurricane Preparations


May 27, 2014 | WMFE, Orlando - The battle to control the congressional districts of Florida continues in the courtroom this week. The 2012 redistricting efforts - led by Republican lawmakers - is being challenged by democrat-leaning groups.

To make sense of the lawsuit and what the potential outcomes may be, 90.7's Matthew Peddie speaks with University of Central Florida Professor of Political Science Aubrey Jewett. 

Also, The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association is predicting a quietl hurricane season. For the past 8 years, Florida hasn’t received a major storm. Despite the forecast, Emergency management officials aren’t letting up on preparation.

Matthew Peddie speaks with the City of Orlando’s Emergency Manager Manny Soto on the city’s efforts to prepare for hurricane season.
