May 20, 2014 | WMFE, Orlando - Anti-evolution proponent William Jennings Bryan started the debate about teaching evolution in the classroom in Florida 90 years ago- and the debate shows no signs of dying down today.

90.7's Matthew Peddie speaks with Central Florida Author Brandon Haught talks about his book “Going Ape: Florida’s Battles over Evolution in the Classroom.”

Also, mass transit in central Florida is undergoing some profound changes with the arrival of the SunRail commuter train and plans for an Orlando to Miami high speed rail service. Adding to the mix of options is low cost bus service with MegaBus expanding routes in Orlando. Matthew Peddie speaks with Megabus President Dale Moser about the changing shape of the transportation.

And later in the program, the Union of Concerned Scientists is releasing a report on the impact of climate change on historical sites. The report’s co-author Adam Markham discusses substantial impacts climate change will make on Florida.
