The center will serve as headquarters for WWE's next generation – or NXT – wrestlers. Plans include seven wrestling rings complete with stage lighting.

Governor Rick Scott said the venture also involves a partnership with Full Sail University

"The partnership includes taping episodes of the WWE's NXT series in the Full Sail Live venue, giving Full Sail students unprecedented access to work behind-the-scenes with WWE's production crew."

Scott and Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs joined wrestling star Paul Levesque – or Triple H – for the announcement. It was a festive event with a half-dozen NXT wrestlers present like Xavier Woods and Corey Graves.

The WWE – previously known as the World Wrestling Federation – is based in Connecticut.
