FAMU Board: No Confidence in Ammons
WFSU - Florida A&M University's President James Ammons received a vote of "no-confidence" Thursday from his board over the handling of the death of a band drum major.
The investigation into the death of Marching 100 drum Major Robert Champion has led to several other investigations and questions about the band's finances.
Trustee Bill Jennings made the motion for the vote, saying he had doubts about Ammons’ ability to lead the school out of its crisis.
FAMU is also under fire over fraudulent audits performed by a former audit director and its handling of a student-on-student sexual abuse case at the k-12 school that FAMU runs.
Earlier in the week, the Florida Board of Governors wrote a letter expressing similar concerns.
