Storm Track Takes Issac Away From West Coast of Florida.
August 26, 2012 | WMFE - As of 5pm the National Hurricane Center is dropping the tropical storm watches counties in the eastern part of Florida. The hurricane warning in the Florida Keys and the west coast of Florida is also being reduced to a tropical storm warning.
Only the western part of the state's panhandle region near Pensacola remains in part of the storm's impact cone.
Parts of Louisiana reaching to Destin are under a hurricane warning.
Issac is expected to move from the Florida Keys in to the eastern Gulf of Mexico Monday.
Forecasters predict the storm will strengthen and reach hurricane status within the next 48 hours.
In the central Florida area weather is expected to bring bands of heavy rain and gusty winds this evening.
Emergency managers in several counties are offering sandbags to their residents and reminding them to remain vigilant for signs of flooding.
The ground in many areas is already saturated across central Florida.
