STORYCORPS EXPERIENCE AT IMMERSE 2017

Record your own StoryCorps conversation with 90.7 WMFE

Orlando public radio station 90.7 WMFE will host an interactive storytelling booth to record conversations of Orlando’s artists and art enthusiasts at Immerse 2017. Presented by Creative City Project, Immerse features 1,000 artists and performers taking over the streets of downtown Orlando from 5-11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21.

Please read below to learn how you can participate in the storytelling booth:

Get an appointment time: 

Sign up with a friend or colleague* for a 20-minute StoryCorps appointment online or at the 90.7 WMFE table on Central and Orange. Walk-in appointments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. *If you can’t get an interview partner, WMFE will provide a partner for you – just ask.

Prepare for your conversation: 

We have some tips along with a list of good questions so you can consider what you want to talk about.

What to expect during your appointment: 

  • We’ll have a quick conference about what your conversation will focus on.
  • You’ll pose for a photo with your interview partner.
  • Then, you’ll step into our mobile recording booth (WMFE station vehicle) to record your 5-10 minute story.
  • When your recording is finished, you’ll fill out a form that includes a conversation title, summary, keywords, place recorded and organization you’re affiliated with.

Post-recording:

Next week, we will upload your recording to the IMMERSE 2017: VOICES OF ORLANDO Community on the Archive StoryCorps site and send you a link to your conversation so you can listen and share. Your story will also be archived in the Library of Congress. Questions? Email jbabcock@wmfe.org.
