Darryl Owens Perspectives | Ebola Hype Vs. Reality

With Wednesday’s announcement that a second Dallas health worker has contracted Ebola after treating a Liberian man with the disease, precautionary measures are ramping up nationwide.

Orlando Sentinel columnist and editorial writer Darryl Owens says efforts to prevent the spread of Ebola are essential…especially in cities like Orlando that host a constant stream of visitors from around the globe. But he says Central Florida needs to walk the line between necessary vigilance and unnecessary panic.

He tells 90.7's Nicole Creston that the similarities between early Ebola symptoms and the flu may have contributed to the two false alarms Florida has seen so far.
