Darryl Owens: Don't Mess With FL Driver License Process

The state of Florida is considering changing the way residents receive or renew their drivers’ licenses. Gone would be the days of walking into the local tax collector’s office and leaving with a license a few hours later – under the new proposal, you could wait a few weeks instead.

But the idea is running into some roadblocks. Orlando Sentinel columnist and editorial writer Darryl Owens says the current system isn’t broken, so why fix it?
