Spotlight: Saint Anejo + Tequileria

Saint Anejo is a new Mexican restaurant in Winter Springs, and in case you’re wondering, there doesn’t seem to have been a real Saint Anejo. So then, Saint Anejo Mexican Kitchen + Tequileria (ah, now the name makes sense). It’s the latest attempt to bring something more than chain dining to the Winter Springs/Oviedo area. Not that this is anything close to fine dining, but it is more pleasant than your typical stereotypical Tex-Mexery. It’s even more Mex than Tex, though far from traditional Mexican cooking (any restaurant that lists fajitas …

We visited the original, on Goldenrod Road last year as a suggestion for celebrating the Lunar New Year. This year, Lunar New Year begins Sunday evening, signaling the Year of the Monkey, which is just perfect for this particular election year. You may want to consider the new Saigon Noodle & Grill for your celebration again this year. What impressed me most about the food I had here was how vibrant and colorful it looked. Even the pho, which in many restaurants can look like day-old dishwater, was vivid and …

Spotlight: Lucy Bleuz Cafe

Sligh Boulevard is an interesting little pocket of quaint. Specifically, the stretch of Sligh that runs in front of the train station where for decades Amtrak trains have stopped for passengers to get on and off, and more recently SunRail has started doing the same. If you sit and face the depot you could forget that downtown Orlando is mere blocks north, or that the massive campus of Orlando Health looms just behind.
