The St Patrick’s Day Celtic Festival takes place at 426 W. Plant Street in Winter Garden at Crooked Can Brewery. Amalia and Georg respond to a “lonely hearts” ad in the newspaper in hopes of finding their soulmates in the musical She Loves Me taking place this weekend at UCF. But you know the real reason to go see the show? Terry Farley. He’s the male lead and he is hot. Tickets are cheap and there are shows tonight, Saturday and Sunday. Spotlight: Holding Out Hope For Nova

What an impressive transformation. That space across the street from Lake Ivanhoe, the one that had for many years been Brian’s Diner and for one brief moment in 2014 was Elliott’s Public House, is now home to Nova. It’s beautiful. It’s comfortable and chic. Walls of warm brick and wood-patterned floors. Rustic tabletops and a soft white fabric on the chairs and high backs of the banquettes. The main dining room is more open now, and it flows to a bar area with an honest-to-god bar (albeit a small one) that, thanks to the increased seating from the addition and patio tables, is now able to serve full liquor. I can heartily recommend the negroni. I wish I could more …

And finally, Shop the largest selection of plants in Central Florida directly from growers at the annual Leu Gardens’ Plant Sale Saturday and Sunday. Spotlight: Trendy Tacos In Mills 50

We may just have to rename the Mills 50 District, Taco Town. Trendy Taco Town, even. We already had Tako Cheena, and at Pig Floyd’s Barbakoa one of the better items is a taco. Now, directly across the street from Floyd’s, is Black Rooster Taqueria in the former Tony’s Deli space. Despite a decor that features a skull motif usually associated with Day of the Dead celebrations south of the border, Black Rooster is an immediately likable place. I like the casually grungy vibe, the simplicity of the menu and the welcoming congeniality of the decidedly young staff. And not for nothing, the food is hella good, as the kids say. (Though they probably don’t say that anymore, do they?) …

Spotlight: The Boathouse At Disney Springs

I finally had a chance to try out the food at the Boathouse, the first major Disney Springs restaurant that opened in April. What took me so long? Well, I wasn’t looking forward to shelling out 21 bucks for fish tacos or 29 clams for for a lobster roll. Even a “classic burger” demands $18. So when I was invited to attend a wine luncheon, I said yes. And I was most anxious to try that Lobster Roll. A lobroll, of course, is a sandwich, a fairly simple one at that, with a lobster salad — steamed lobster meat chopped and tossed with mayonnaise and celery — on a toasted and buttered bun, most usually a mere hot dog bun …
